Privacy Policy
Last updated: 3 November 2026
This policy explains what personal data the Rally Hud app ("the App") and the website rallyhud.yapplic.com collect, why, and what you can do about it.
Who is responsible
Rally Hud is developed by Jordi Toda (Yapplic), who is the data controller. Contact: info@yapplic.com.
What we collect and why
Account. To save your times and use the online features you sign in with email and password, Google or Apple. We store your user ID, email address and the display name you choose. Purpose: to keep your data linked to you across devices. Legal basis: performance of the service you request.
Your vehicles. Name and details of the vehicles in your garage and, if you add one, a photo. Purpose: to show which vehicle you used on each run.
Your runs. For each timed run on a segment: segment, vehicle, date and time, total time, maximum and average speed, intermediate split times, and the speed and G-force series used for the run analysis. The GPS position track of the run is not uploaded: it is processed on your phone to detect segments and calculate speed.
Segments you create. The route (start, finish and the points of the line), name, description and whether it is public or private. Public segments, their route and your display name as creator are visible to every user. Private segments are visible only to you and the people you invite.
Ranking. Your best time on each segment, with your display name and vehicle name, is shown in the segment ranking to the other users who can see that segment.
Location. The App uses your phone's precise location while you use it, to measure speed, time segments and show the map. It does not track your location in the background and does not send your location history to our servers.
Subscription (Rally Hud Pro). Purchases are processed by the App Store or Google Play. We never see your card or payment details. We receive, through RevenueCat, the status of your subscription (plan, start, renewal and expiry dates) linked to your user ID, to unlock the Pro features.
Notifications. If you allow them, OneSignal receives a device token and your user ID so we can send you notifications about the App.
Usage and crash data. Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics collect usage events and crash reports. See "Analytics and crash reports" below.
Contact. If you write to us, we keep your email and message to answer you.
Analytics and crash reports
The App uses Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics, provided by Google Ireland Ltd. Data may be transferred to Google LLC in the United States under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
What is collected:
- App usage events: screens visited and features used, such as HUD sessions, runs completed or cancelled, segments created (public or private), vehicles added, and the steps of the subscription paywall and purchase.
- Whether you are a Pro user and your plan type.
- Crash and diagnostic data: error traces, device model, operating system and app version.
- The app instance ID and a pseudonymous user identifier (your account's internal ID).
- RevenueCat may also send subscription events (such as renewals and cancellations) to Firebase.
What is never sent to these services: GPS coordinates or routes, segment names, your email, your name, photos or licence plates. We do not use the advertising ID, the App shows no ads and we do not track you across other apps.
Purpose: to understand how the App is used, improve it, fix errors and measure the subscription. Legal basis: legitimate interest (art. 6.1.f GDPR). You can object at any time.
How to turn it off: in the App, go to Profile › Privacy and switch off "Share anonymous usage statistics" and "Send crash reports". Both are on by default.
Retention: Analytics event data is kept for 14 months and Crashlytics crash reports for 90 days. When you delete your account, the link with your identifier is removed and the Analytics and Crashlytics data on the device is reset.
Service providers
We use these providers, who process data on our behalf:
- Google Firebase (authentication, database, file storage, cloud functions, Analytics, Crashlytics) — privacy
- RevenueCat (subscription status) — privacy
- OneSignal (notifications) — privacy
- Apple App Store and Google Play (downloads and payments) — under their own policies
- OpenRouteService / HeiGIT (snapping a new segment to the road: receives the points you place on the map, without your identity) — privacy
- OpenStreetMap (map tiles: receives your IP address and the map area you look at) — privacy
Some of these providers may process data outside the European Economic Area, under the safeguards provided by law (such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses).
We do not sell your data and the App has no ads.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while you have an account. When you delete your account (see below), we delete your account, vehicles, vehicle photos and runs. Your best times stay in the rankings and your public segments stay available, but anonymised as "Deleted pilot", so they can no longer be linked to you. Analytics and crash data are kept for the periods described in "Analytics and crash reports" above.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time from Profile › Delete account in the App. If you cannot access the App, write to info@yapplic.com from the email of your account. Deleting the account does not cancel a store subscription: cancel it from your App Store or Google Play subscriptions.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, delete or export your data, and to object to or restrict its processing, by writing to info@yapplic.com. If you think we have not handled your data correctly, you can complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es).
Children
The App is not intended for children under 14 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
The website
rallyhud.yapplic.com does not use cookies or analytics. It only saves your light or dark theme choice in your browser. See the Cookies Policy.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date above. If the change is important, we will also tell you in the App.
